it's still a good place to visit, though (but TBH, the best bits of Firenze are missed by the crowds in their self-propelled tour of David (replica), Duomo and Uffizi.
Florence is great and actually now isn't a bad time to visit as all the towns become deserted by locals who flock to the sea
Weather isn't meant to be great mind you over next week..
My other fav "town" is Siena - beautiful - well well worth a trip as is Lucca^
If you want some sea you can then go to Viareggio / Forte dei Marmi / Marina di Pietrasanta if you want the Miami type long beaches with VIPS or le 5 terre, Portovenere + Lerici if you want awesome - amazing towns on the sea in true "Italian" style
All within 90 minutes
