The way I get URL info on a FT page I'm reading is (IE5 only, don't have NS any more):

right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Properties". One of the fields is "Address (URL)", it can be highlighted and copied (CTRL-C or right-mouse again), then pasted.

FewMiles's way is better when you're looking at the list of topics, my way saves going back if you're reading a message.
