This actually happened on my most recent LHR-ORD flight, although not for nearly as significant duration as on your flight - but since I wanted to use the restroom during one of their chatting delays, even that was pretty annoying. Fortunately, I have not noticed this on any of my other LHR<>ORD travels when I was in the F cabin.
Certainly I would always defer to the flight crew's need to use the lavs, but blocking pax access to the lavs because of chit chat is not good behavior.
