I have a buddy trying to get from greece to LA. He is on his way to Athens now and the US flight is leaving in 5 hours. There are award seats on it. He is not sure he is going to make it to Athens and he also might have another ticket come through in which case he would not need this.

Can I just put this flight on hold and let him show up at athens airport and ticket it. These are my miles. Or could I just wait for hom to get to ATH and then call and ticket it. If flight is at 1145 am athens time just how late can I ticket it.

If I just ticket it now and he doesn't show then can I have the miles redeposited and how much.
