I recommend you call in advance to check the shuttle operating hours if your connection is not during the day. My connecting flight departed on AA at midnight and I was traveling from the AS terminal 3 to the AA terminal. I called the Board Room and they told me the shuttle stopped operating after certain hours so I walked it through the parking structure and went through security again.
