One of the really odd, contradictory things about Flyertalk culture is how totally in the tank so many of us are with our favorite, chosen service providers... taking their side against all kinds of passenger grievances and rationalizing / excusing the most egregious lapses... but then, when a software glitch causes that service provider to briefly, accidentally offer $3 tickets to Sydney or $5 hotel rooms, those same loyalists are suddenly standing on the throat of those same providers, screaming at them to "honor their promises!" despite the prospect of ruinous financial losses.
