(another) infant seating question

Hi,

Hope a friendly FT'er can help with this query.

Flying LHR-EDI in a few weeks with an infant (two weeks old today ) and booked into row 1.

Bit concerned about being bumped on the day from row 1 to the back, as it's technically an exit row.

Searched on here and found BingBongBoy's recent post (apologies not great with links) about row 1 usually being okay for infants, although also checked with BAEC and got this:

Hi,

Just wondered if you could confirm whether infants travelling on parents' laps are allowed to be seated in row 1 on a UK Domestic flight?

With thanks,

Guppy10

Dear Mr Guppy10,

On domestic flights infants seated on their parents laps have to seat in a seat that has 2 oxygen masks above the seats. This is a health and safety matter as our passengers safety is of uttermost importance to us. These are positioned on various seats throughout the cabin and vary from aircraft to aircraft so I cannot confirm what specific seats an infant can sit on.

I hope this answers you question and please feel free to contact us if you have any further enquiries.

So, can anyone out there help?

Apologies if I'm being a it thick too, ba.com says no infants in exit rows, I'm sure I've seen them in row 1 before though!

^ to BAEC who responded within 24hrs too....!

Thanks,

Guppy10
