You're right about that! I have had personal experience with the "Travelocity Guarantee" and can guarantee that it's meaningless.
There's no excuse for Travelocity to pass the buck to the hotel. Travelocity accepted the booking and confirmed the price
multiple times. If their guarantee means anything, they would stand behind their confirmations, mistake or not.
And the trinket that Travelocity threw the OP for all the hassles (how much did all those international calls cost, anyway?) is insulting.
