Your flight on the 8th, was it first flight out in the morning by any chance??
They almost always board early to try and get an early take off. I have walked to the gate early to just relax for a few only to have the agent begin pre-boarding. My San Diego flight that generally leaves at 6:50 am has boarded at 6:00 am the last four times I have taken it.
