Award flight and revenue flight on same day at same time?
My girlfriend booked an award ticket XXX-DTW-SFO, but her plans have changed and now it is more convenient for her to fly YYY-SFO directly for only $150, less than the change fee plus miles would have been, on the same day. She has both flights scheduled and they do overlap in time and day.

What will happen?

Should she call DL and tell them she wants to cancel the award ticket?
