I've taken Greyhound from Vancouver to Winnipeg (with the intent to end up in Ottawa before opting to fly). Bought far enough in advance, Vancouver to Ottawa cost me only $110.

What were your search parameters? Prices change based on how far in advance you book and if you're travelling during the week or weekend.
