If money is a concern, I would recommend this 4P over the Westin at DTW. I was here a while back during my lowly SPG silver days. Decent staff, very clean rooms and great park and go facility, the shuttle driver def earned the tip, even knew where to direct me for non-NW departures.
There are some restaurants nearby and it's safe enough to work close distances, I remember I had to cut across a Fairfield Inn to get to a Denny's nearby.
