For me, it's the Bar 505 at the Hyland Sofitel in Shanghai and Torii Bar of the Hotel Nikko Dusseldorf.

Both are refuges in otherwise drab and unattractive areas and offer a welcome resting place for winding down or informal meetings. Bar 505 is notably French in it's offerings while Torii obviously is geared towards Japanese taste. And I don't mind either...
