Still remember that UA's Business was called Connoisseur Class for some time, and for trans-Pacific flight, there used to be red-uniform FA (maybe not FA) for language translation.
For NRT-LAX/SFO flight, there are sometimes even 3 red- FAs (Korean, Japanese, and Mandarin/Catonese) on board.
WOO that was more then 20 years ago.
I must be getting old. I now remember taking UA TPE-SEL-NRT-HNL on my RW trip in 1995 - they must not have had a TPE-NRT for some reason at that time.
From my spreadsheet:
1994/09/09
TPE-SEL UA 826 11:15-14:30
SEL-NRT UA 826 15:50-18:00
NRT-HNL UA 826 19:30-07:00
It was DC-10 all 3 legs.
When I came back, it was SIN-HKG on a 744 UA 806 and UA did not go to TPE from SIN so I did CX from HKG to TPE.
