I often book two rooms in the same hotel both in my name and always get all the reward points. So I don't see any reason why you wouldn't get the points from both reservations. But you do have to check in to get your points. I recently couldn't travel and the hotel charged me the full amount but wouldn't give me any reward points because I was classed as a 'no show'.
