I have stayed at the Marriott Hotel right in the centre of Houston (George Bush) Airport a few times. We always got a reasonable rate for a family of four - but then we enjoy Continental Airline's Corporate Rate (Tip: Use Flyertalk's Hotel Program section to see if there are any discount or promotion codes for Marriott).

George Bush is a hell of a way from Houston City Centre though, so don't expect to do any sightseeing there - unless you want to part with loads of money on the Express bus or a taxi! From memory, it's at least 40 miles from the Galleries Shopping Mall!
