Looking at redeeming a 241 later this year ... thinking of heading for Baja California (SJD airport) ... the most convenient way connection wise seems to be via IAH or PHX overnighting and flying on to SJD the following morning .. There's a same day connection via DFW, but it's only 75mins and it's the last flight of the day DFW-SJD arriving in around 7pm and it's a reasonable drive to where I'd be going (Todos Santos) so would prefer not to do that.

Question is basically - does anyone have any opinions on IAH vs. PHX for an overnight stop .. specifically hotels attached or close to the terminal and somewhere decent for dinner ! (The late IAH and the PHX flight are both 747s so no difference there)

(Going via MEX isn't an option (unfortunately!) as I want to fly back from the US definitely and that rules out using a 241 as it's different redemption regions)
