Arrow Hampton Inn & Suites Manteca {US-CA}

Spent six days over the cource of two weeks at this relatively new property. Occupancy was relatively low throughout my stay.

ARRIVAL: Neither hotel, nor street (Bass Pro), nor cross-street (Atherton) were on my GPS. But the place is easy to find: midway between Union and Main, one block South of 120. Ample parking. Clean and well lit, at least where I was parked. Location was probably chosen with expectation that surrounding area would be built-up. That hasn't happened yet. (Tough local economy.)

CHECK-IN: Checked in on-line and changed my pre-assigned room. When I showed up, they had me in my chosen room. Pleasant people at the front desk. And, despite the fact that it's a new hotel, front desk staff was competent. T their additional credit, they recognized me as a Diamond and acknowledged that I probably knew how Hampton Inns work, but they stood ready for questions....like "where's town?" (It's close, but not visible from the hotel. There is a sparsely populated mall adjacent: Bass Pro Shop, JC Penney...)

ROOM: New and perfectly maintained. Microwave and mid-sized refrigerator. Niiiice bed. I was on the first floor, non-freeway side. Quiet. Bigger-than-average shower enclosure.

FACILITIES: Really nice fitness center. Far bigger than your average Hampton, with ample space and top-quality equipment. (Precor)

Jumbo breakfast area. Food area is behind sliding doors, so the room is "normal" during the day (no steam trays and plasticware holders visible). Room is well decorated, not just industrial. Lots of natural light.

Breakfast was a coule of hot, steam-tray items (eggs, sausages, pizza-looking things), plus pasties or waffles (two waffle makers and a choice of sugar-free syrup!) or oatmeal or ??? Fresh and "chopped" fruit. Breads, muffins, bagels. 6:00 - 10:00AM.

Coffee available 24/7, and cookies were also available much of the time.

STAFF: All good; some very good. Manager was helpful with question/problem and provided an explanation and a solution. Quickly!

SUMMARY. Recommended. I'll be back.
