Absurd as it may seem, it is technically not permitted if the net result is a lower fare for you. Under the circumstances you describe, it would probably not be a problem. But if the airline felt that you were habitually abusing the system to circumvent minimum stay or Saturday stay requirements, things could become quite unpleasant for you.
