Connections should be booked with several things in mind:

The outlay and size of the connecting airport

Airport of departure (likelihood of late departures)

Whether and how many more flights are there that day to your destination

Consequences of missing your connection (for example, missing an important presentation)

Time of year (weather issues)

Availability and quality of alternatives (for example would an earlier flight leave you sitting around for eight hours).


Personally, I would rather take a (reasonable) longer connection than stress about it.
