Reading between the lines here you don't actually WANT to be an HON. Most Hons here appear to be slightly miffed at the benefits not always being delivered, and the benefits being diluted.
When I got FTL (and that is all I am) through economy only flights, I did about 65 segments that year, all in Y. With that, I really felt I had earned the lounge access. That got me 50,000 status miles, so no-where near SEN.
To fly 1 long haul a month for work must be pretty tough. Not the flying itself (which I love) but the adjustment, the time away from family and friends. From the outside as we all know it all looks pretty glamourous, but the number of times I long for my own bed on my schedule means I don't envy Rambuster or anyone else.
Of course, it would be nice to be further forward in the plane, but sometimes the only thing that is better than the VIP treatment in the airport, is not having to go through an airport at all, staying at home and playing with your kids, riding bikes, going fishing, whatever......
