+1 - not sure if you can waitlist for others flights on HA as a reward partner, but definitely check with HA when you arrive. If they have open seats, they should be able to accommodate you for a fee (I think $25).
If you go to LIH early and surprise-surprise, your bags make the original flight, it's a good excuse to drive back to LIH for dinner at Hamura's Saimin after getting your bags
Sounds great and I appreciate the tip. However, we'll be up in the Princeville area after a long day so I hope I do not have to return to LIH to pick up our bags. But we will keep Hamura's in mind for another evening! ^
