I do all of my *A flying out of HKG. There's a much bigger selection of destinations and carriers and the prices are much better. I have a trip this Oct. HKG-FCO via PEK on Air China and it cost all of $600. A ticket to HKG RT is only $200 on a bad day so $800 gets me to Europe, earning miles almost the whole way....
