Follow up question: Would the flight crew cabin attendants be aware we were flying on award travel or is a ticket a ticket on their paperwork? Just curious if passengers traveling on travel award might be treated a little different... especially if everyone else in the cabin paid $6-8K for business or $$$$$ for first.
Have you found any CX availability when you've called? It's notoriously difficult.
In my experience flying AS partners in premium classes on award travel (and a couple of op-ups), whether or not the FA's knew the origins of our tickets, they were completely professional and treated us like everyone else in the cabin.
And for that matter, on many routes, relatively few J or F pax will be full fare paying.
