Just to resurrect this thread a little but my Costco Card is a Platinum Amex Card. It is the Costco Cash Rebate Card and it is platinum colored. Is that allowed in the airport lounges?

The employee made a mistake. Airport lounge access is offered with the American Express Platinum charge card, and does not apply to any other card which happens to be platinum color or include the word "platinum" in its name. This is the card:

The current Costco TrueEarnings card issued in the USA and Canada does not even resemble the Platinum Card, but the previous Costco card may.
