aa.com is fine - you can book multicity, LGW-AMS then AMS-LGW, and it doesn't impose any MCT. Of course, if you're doing a proper mileage run with various other destinations, e.g. LGW-AMS-LGW-JER-LGW-EDI-LGW, then you omit the LGWs in the middle (because you can't ask it for a multicity trip where you return to the starting point in the middle; and it recommends the connections in LGW for you).
