I got stopped by LAPD (for having my full beams on for the first 10 secs from starting the engine FFS). He had no idea what my UK drivers licence was, and kept going on about how I should have a State of Ca. licence or other US issued driver's licence. I imagine an Entitlement to Drive would get even shorter shrift should you encounter the police of where you may be visiting in the US
