What a disappointment [Club trip to PHX)

I recently flew LHR-PHX in CW to start my holiday; although it's been a couple of years since I've done longhaul biz class, I was disappointed. The cabin interior is beginning to look very tired - cracks, dirt and wear evident in many places. The seat just isn't that comfortable, and is too narrow across the shoulders to make side sleeping very practical. Food was pretty poor, and the IFE choice for July was dull. My return journey was with KLM on their newest 777-300, and I was amazed to find that their on-board product beat BA in almost every respect - more comfortable seat for both sitting and sleeping, despite the lack of full 180deg recline; food marginally better, and IFE streets ahead. The only benefit I can see now with BA is the ground product - T5 lounges offer more in the way of food and literature, plus of course the arrivals lounge. Having said that, KLM have refitted their main Crown Lounge at AMS, offer more food than they used to, and have kept separate sealed smoking rooms - a real rarity these days, and an example of how you can accommodate smokers without bothering other lounge users.
