If they are anything like bereavement fares, then they are no great deal. The bereavement fares are a discount off of full fare, which might be cheaper than the other fares available on one or two day notice, but you can typically find better advance purchase fares. So unless you need to travel in next couple of days, you will probably do better just shopping.

the bereavement fares are absolutely ridiculous... though so are regular domestic fares right now (at least out of MSP)... My uncle who lives in NY passed away 2 weeks ago and the cheapest air fare on the web that I could find (via delta.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com, kayak.com) was $892 into SYR.... the next day it jumped to $951.... the bereavement fare was a whopping $795 . . . it was only $1020 to fly to Reykjavik in comparison with Icelandair....
sorry about your sister.... hopefully something will happen.. you can also try to request something from the Make-a-wish foundation....
