from the Travelpro Crew 8 brochure:

"Dimensions are for suitcase compartment only and do not include external components such as wheels, feet, and handles. Weights listed above do not include accessories. Fully expanded 22" Expandable Rollaboard Suiter will not meet airline carry-on restrictions"

They are correct in that the suitcase compartment does measure 22", however when you measure from the end of the feet to the edge of the top handle it measures 23.45"-23.5" . this technically will not meet airline restrictions however i have yet to have a problem when flying UA or CO.

Why didn't Travelpro just come out with a 21" suitcase?
