Yeah, if it's in the minibar area I tend to try and read the pricing card if I'm unsure of it. If it was in the bathroom, I'd certainly be shocked to be charged.

The minibar is the minibar. Unless you're at a place that includes it, or are an RA at and IC, I expect to be charged. I have been charged a late breakfast charge at a Hilton before on a free breakfast, so I understand the problem, certainly. They even tried to say it was "taxes" on an award. Only because I was able to read info on FT did I find that they were yanking my chain.
