Indeed it does. Unfortunately, one major flaw with this functionality is that it refuses to show you availability if you currently do not have enough miles. So if you don't currently have the miles for that first class ticket to London - even though you may have a zillion miles that are going to post soon - it refuses to show availability.
You should be able to (a) see availability regardless of the number of miles you currently have and (b) put an award reservation on hold.
The first issue - not being able to see availability if you don't currently have the miles - is just silly. Rather than answering my question, it just forces me to call the EXP desk and have them spend time on the answer. Having then got the answer to my question from the EXP desk, I then have to get them to put it on hold.....
A warning that you have insufficient miles and the inability to ticket an award in that circumstance obviously make sense. The current functionality doesn't and I've already e mailed AA to convey that opinion....
