Ahem. I think that a reality check is in order. We are not having any rights or entitlements taken away; Tesco has always been free to change whatever it likes. We have no right to be "satisfied", nor does Tesco need to "justify" anything to us. We can like it or hate it; and if we hate it we know what our remedy is.

And having a go at BA, and particularly at Nicci/BA Executive Club, is altogether picking the wrong target.

Why does it need "explaining"? Tesco don't want to do it the old way any more. If you shop at Tesco, you're still going to be better off. If you don't (and I generally don't), then you're not.
