T2 was always the worst terminal a CAI, it was pure suffering to use that facility. I was delighted when I heard of the rennovation plans, and looking at the renders, looks like we can expect something similar to T3, maybe even better!
It was announced in MEED (Middle East Economic Digest) yesterday that, a) 15 firms have prequalified for CAI T2 and, b) award of a construction contract is expected in the third quarter of 2010.
It beggars belief that airlines vacated CAI T2 at the end of March 2010 yet it will be at least six months later before construction/renovation work starts.
