This response may be good enough for the average Tesco shopper, but is hardly going to satisfy us here on FT.

True I may get double miles on my £10 shop at my local Tesco Express, but I am not getting double miles on my Tesco credit card. If BA is suggesting that the object of the reduction is to compensate for the double points promo, the erosion in the earning value on the Tesco CC is unexplained. Ditto for the blocks of bonus points on home shopping (whether 500 points per wine order or 500 points over 3 grocery orders).

Perhaps BA would care to give us the official party line on that ? I suspect not, as there is nothing to be said to justify it !
