Yeah! And also watch out for them when you arrive and as you head out of the airport because there are many timeshare hawks at the 'tourist information' counters just waiting for you to ask. It has been a few years since I was there but I can still vividly remember these timeshare guys. We just got a cab from the airport and since we were a large group (4 adults+3 kids), we took a van taxi. Not expensive.

On our 2nd trip back, as we were arriving at various times, and I already knew the area, I just took the public bus to Playa del Carmen and walked to my friend's summer villa. Playa del Carmen was great and I sure look forward to making a trip out there again.

One thing I realized was that the ocean water was warm for me (in August) when you compare it to the cold (refreshing!) Atlantic Ocean waters out here in the East Coast! Make sure you bring lots of sunblock as the sun was much more intense. Have fun!
