Just got back from 4 days at the Hyatt Bali in Sanur. I have to admit except for one quick walk to the chinese restaurant I did not leave the hotel at all. I needed a 'battery recharge' and the hotel with it's great garden fit excellent into that schedule. Especially I like the secluded sunbeds that are all over the areal and not only concentrate around the pool area. The hotel was close to capacity (93%) and it felt really empty and spacious. I reserved a Regency Suite via GP Points and recieved the furthest down suite right next to the temple and closest to the ocean. It has a huge patio which fits 2 sunbeds, a table and two 2-seater 'sofas'. A little problem is that the water from the plants above where one of the premier suites is located was dripping down for a long time. Not good ! The furniture is a bit dated and the bathrooms (yes, 2 because the suite has been pieced together out of 2 regular rooms and they kept the seperate bathrooms - good for families though) have shower/bathtub combinations only. The Regency Club Garden View Rooms however have seperate shower / bathtubs and a great bathroom in general.
I personally found the staff to be way less attentive and professional than at the Grand Hyatt.
The lounge was good - the breakfast there as well. Absolutely sufficient, especially for me as the climate in Bali doesnt make me that hungry anyway. The offerings in the evening are nice as well.
Ughh... battery runs out.... will finish this in a bit !
