I am looking at my options for an upcoming flight to Thailand and I'm having trouble deciding between United and Cathay Pacific. I have no status with those airlines and I am not rich, so I will have to fly in economy. UA is about 500$ cheaper than Cathay (1000$ vs 1500$). However, if I booked with United, I would upgrade to E+ for the extra legroom since I'm pretty tall, which would cost another 350$. Would it be better to go with Cathay in that case since the cost would be pretty similar?
