I am going to Honolulu then Kauai this October for honeymoon. For Kauai, I am going all out staying at the Grand Hyatt. For Honolulu, we'll stay at either Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach or Moana Surfrider. Proximity to tourist area is importance, hence the choice between these two hotels. We will be touring Honolulu and won't be staying much at the hotel, so pool and other amenities are not that important. What is important is to get a good night sleep, so quiet, comfortable bed, clean, etc.

The Outrigger was last renovated in 2003, Moana in 2009 (but only mild renovation from what I read on the master thread of Moana Surfrider). Has anyone stayed at both hotels recently that can comment?
