I think it might have more to do with the recent ATI approval and the pending joint operation across the North Atlantic with AA and IB. Watch for more developments to come in the next few months. If you go to BA.com you will also see links on various pages with information on AA and IB depending on what information you are seeking...anything from travel classes to baggage allowances.
