600 people max protested at any one location. There were several locations. A few blocked streets. Folks, this was not much of a protest. I flew in with no issue on Thursday. I was in San Fran when there were 2000 people protesting something at the UN building and bus service was stopped (they had blocked the lines). All we did was grab a cab for a few miles to get around. Some (cheaper) individuals, just walked a mile around it.
In the future, if this occurs, I would suggest taking public transit north (to McDowell or Thomas or Indian School) and then East to 24th ST, then back south to airport. Seriously though, Thursday's demonstrations only blocked a few streets for a very little bit. Note that those protestors were arrested and their citizenship checked (as that part of the law was allowed to continue).
Thank goodness LUV is nice and would probably have no issue rebooking for free given the circumstances.
