I think they should last a full 12 months. I don't visit China as often as anymore - sometimes just a quick 24-36 shopping junket to Shenzhen or Guangzhou. Each time I add RMB$100 - if for no other reason than to keep my prepaid number valid....it's worked for the past 6 yrs.
