A bit OT as it concerns IB, but they are OW after all. I was connecting in MAD from a long haul to a short haul. The long haul had been delayed because we had to make an intermediate stop for a sick pax and I was down to a 40 minute connexion. On the inbound longhaul, my shorthaul (to GVA) was displayed as still being a valid connexion and the gate agent at arrivals confirmed this (but did advise me to move). I got to the short haul gate 20 minutes before departure, the flight was already boarding and I had been off-loaded. They "on-loaded" me again at the gate but I had to sign a form agreeing not to have any catering (so somehow that had been off-loaded too).
The gate agent followed me on to the plane, explained to the CSD all about me and the "no catering". Once the gate agent left, the CSD glanced at her manifest, came over to me and said "You heard about the catering didn't you - well I see you ordered a SPML and they didn't offload that, so we are able to cater you".
