Sometimes there is consistency within a brand as to whether all of their 2-bed rooms offer double beds or queen beds. I would try to find a budget chain that offers queen beds and then start your searches there in the future.

Booking.com does not allow you to filter on that parameter, but on the first page of search results it shows very clearly what room types are available. Unfortunately, they do not seem to offer as many US options as they do in Europe.
