I wouldn't risk a 3:35 drive to catch a 12:35 PM flight at SJO. Find a closer hotel. There are a lot of nice B&B's in Alajuela, just minutes from the airport. You'll want to be at the airport by 10-10:30 at the latest, IMHO.
