Yeah, the cost of owning/running a 77L would be in the quarter million dollar range per day (incl. fuel). That would get you, based on average utilization in such a fleet, 1 half of the roundtrip (ie:
just YVR-SYD).
Flying isn't cheap. Airlines have been such great bargains for consumers over the past decade because they have gullible financiers who seem to keep extending credit at an almost-predictable loss.
