Fare Drop, how to maximize refund?

Hello,

I purchased tickets to DEN-ANC and now the fare has dropped by $138. How can I best maximize the refund in fare?

The details: 1 MVPG, 1 MVP. BofA Companion cert used.

Since the companion cert cost will not change, I'm looking at a total of $138 refunded, but I'm also assuming a $75 change fee for the MVP (please correct me if I'm wrong...perhaps there is no change fee for a fare drop?).

I tried to change flights online (change to the same flights I am currently booked on) but the system is too smart and will not let me choose my current flights. If I call and am assessed a change fee for the MVP that will be $100 I think, at which point the $138 turns into a $100 fee and $138 credit...hardly worth it.

Thoughts?
