having just stayed at The Shelbourne this past weekend next time it will be The Westin. The Westin is a much better location. Although it takes only maybe 15 mins to walk between the 2 Hotels. Its just Temple Bar is right across the street from The Westin and The Arlington Hotel is right over the River (Irish Music and Dance 7 days a week, did I say Free to boot).
lol, never before have I heard proximity to the Arlington to be a reason to choose one five star hotel over another.
Westin is nice to stay and quite private for guests.
Shelbourne attracts the ENTIRE Dublin 'in-crowd' but it's a much more historic and beautiful property, built as a hotel several hundred years ago. The irish constitution was drafted there... Westin was a bank.
