Indeed it was. Journalists and industralists were charged a special fare, and that made the overall costs cheaper than repeating the Washington arrangement of using scheduled planes.

By coincidence I was in the scheduled BA119 to Bangalore, a 3 class 777, that arrived on Wednesday morning. CW was about two thirds full. The Prime Minister spent most of the day about a mile or so from me in Whitefield, the technology area of the city.
