I just ordered this card no fee, you get 3x points on travel purchaes and 5x bonus on purchases at Westin and 3x purchases at Sheraton. Using Capitalone's porttal it takes you directly to Starwoods web page. You just log in and make your reservations as usual.( I would only use this card for travel only airfre and hotels)

My questoin: Is 8 Capitalone reward points a better value than giving up 2 Starwwood points for every $ spent at Starwood properties.

I love Starwood but I cant stand airline ff miles. It is to hard to use points.

Assume I spend $15,000 a year @ Westin I would get 30,000 Stawood pts. On Capital one card I would get 15,000 x3 + 15,000 x5 = 120,000 No hassle reward pts or $1200 travel $.

Is any body doing this? If so are there any other tricks?
